The Phoenix: MVCS adopted the phoenix as its official mascot in 2014. The phoenix, a legendary bird that rises from its own ashes, symbolizes rebirth, resilience, and the power of transformation. For MVCS, the phoenix is more than just a mascot—it is a reflection of our students’ journeys.

MVCS is not a private school and it is not a charter in the way most people assume. It is a free public community school, open to students across the area, with no tuition and a real accredited Ohio diploma.
Free Busing
Mahoning Valley Community School provides free busing to all of its students. There are a lot of challenges in pursuit of education, worrying about how your child will get school shouldn't be one of them.
Free Credentials
Your education should prepare you for real work. At MVCS, students earn the industry credentials employers ask for, including OSHA, CompTIA, NIMS, CPR, and Lean Six Sigma, all at no cost.
